For my Intro to Engineering class final project, my group was tasked with creating a useful, novel device to be used for UVA students and present the idea in a Shark Tank format. The device developed was the Restroom Freshroom: an air freshening device activated by the sound of a toilet flush. An Arduino was programmed in conjunction with a noise sensor to spin a motor when the sound of a flush was heard by the sesnor. This DC motor then spun a 3D printed fan-paddle through a bed of air spray liquid to be propelled up and frontward out of the device's case pores.
